Business Computing BSc
This degree, which is interdisciplinary, combines the breadth of Information Technologies, (electronic offices and databases, programming, and the internet) in addition to the fundamental areas of Business (management, marketing and accounting economics, as well as law). Graduates will have the knowledge and skills needed to understand the business functions and analyse the information needs of users to design and implement information systems.
Learn to identify intuitively, by combining of knowledge and experience the constantly changing blend of processes needed by information delivery systems to fulfil their roles in an organisation. You’ll also learn to recognize that a company is an entity that is constantly changing and evolving and how information systems must adapt to these changes and the changing requirements and demands of users.
In your second year, we’ll help you develop your IT and computing skills by participating in workshops and projects. Our academics will share their research knowledge with you, and you’ll have the chance to participate in an industrial placement year, in which you will put your new skills to use in a real-world setting.
Our teaching is influenced by the latest technological developments and focuses on applying emerging technologies to business. You can choose from a wide range of courses, including Big Data Analytics and Informatics Strategy and Management, as along with e-Business Technology. Regular guest speakers from renowned companies will enrich the course and help demonstrate the relevance of the subject you are studying and the potential career opportunities for our graduates.
